THE SPECIAL ALL DIGITAL EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE JAZZ DE MONTRÉAL PRESENTED BY TD BANK GROUP IN COLLABORATION WITH RIO TINTO AND IS IN FULL SWING AND THERE IS SO MUCH MORE MUSIC ON THE MENU OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS
MONTREALERS AND JAZZ FANS ALL OVER THE WORLD CONTINUE TO #JAZZTOGETHER WITH EXPLOSIVE LIVE PERFORMANCES FROM SOME OF THE BRIGHTEST STARS PERFORMING AT L’ASTRAL FOR A VIRTUAL EDITION OF THE LEGENDARY FESTIVAL.
The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal presented by TD Bank Group in collaboration with Rio Tinto and its public partners is underway and reactions have been fan-tastic so far for this special edition of the Festival on our digital platforms.
Starting tonight at 6 pm, fans won’t want to miss guitarist extraordinaire, Jordan Officer, live from L’Astral, as he takes the stage for the Apéros SAQ . That is followed by the Sessions TD and the Rythmes Rio Tinto series featuring Mateo; The Marianne Trudel Trio featuring Morgan Moore and Robbie Kuster; Jeremy Dutcher; Charlotte Cardin; and a special presentation of Jaco Pastorius’ 1982 performance from The Festival as part of the Trésors du festival présentés par TD & Rio Tinto.
Tomorrow is another stellar day starting with funkmasters Fredy V. & The Foundation live at L’Astral at 6 pm. The party continues with this year’s winner of the Révélation Radio-Canada en jazz, Carl Mayotte; Jack Broadbent, Elisapie; Jean-Michel Blais; and a legendary Festival performance from Miles Davis dating back to 1985.
The Festival wraps up on Tuesday evening, starting with Juno-winning trumpeter Jacques Kuba Séguin, live at L’Astral at 6 pm. The festivities continue with performances from Naya Ali; former Uzeb bassist Alain Caron and his trio featuring Paul Brochu and John Roney. Fans will then be treated to a set by Dominique Fils-Aimé as well as the Barr Brothers, and the Festival will wrap with an unforgettable performance by Sarah Vaughn from the Festival’s 1983 edition.
All of these special moments will be available to fans all over the world for FREE, live on the Festival website and social media platforms, as well as for 30 days after this weekend’s broadcast across the globe.
The digital edition of the Festival’s takeover of Montreal’s iconic L’Astral has transformed the venue into a custom-made broadcast studio to capture this unique series of performances with the kind of production value fans have come to expect from the jazz Festival.
