The happy and highly creative encounter of pianist and composer Marianne Trudel with drummer and composer John Hollenbeck took place a few years ago while the latter was getting established in Montreal. A piano, a drum set, a thousand ideas. “Dédé Java Espiritu” plunges the listener into an infinite panorama of colours and rhythms. Where catchy grooves, enchanting melodies, surprising sonorities, and joyous spontaneity go hand in hand. This new duo will be releasing an album in spring 2020.
