The Théâtre Maisonneuve will be transformed into a studio to record an album that brings together three musicians from three generations. At 87, saxophonist and band leader Benny Carter has maintained the same resplendent form that’s accompanied him through 70 years of jazz. This mythical figure from the big band era will be making his first Montréal appearance in ten years. Young pianist Eric Reed is a newcomer to the jazz scene. A graduate of the Wynton Marsalis group, he’s one of the most brilliant instrumentalists of the neo-traditionalist school.
