SUMMARY:Esperanza Spalding - Festival International de Jazz de Montréal
DESCRIPTION:ESPERANZA SPALDING\n\nToo often relegated to the back row of the jazz lineup, the acoustic bass is nonetheless the choice of many a stunning musician — like Esperanza Spalding! The Oregon native claims to have had her interest in jazz sparked as a child by Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood (!), but from those humble beginnings — brilliance. Spalding attended prestigious Berklee, where she now teaches. She’s the buzz artist of the moment, thanks to her Junjo album — featuring Chick Corea’s “Humpty Dumpty” — and the virtuosity displayed in her often simultaneous bass/vocal lines.\n\nhttp://www.montrealjazzfest.com/program/concert.aspx?id=281\n
