SUMMARY:Terence Blanchard Quintet - Festival International de Jazz de Montréal
DESCRIPTION:TERENCE BLANCHARD QUINTET\n\nHe is a trumpet virtuoso, artistic director of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, film music composer (much of it for the films of Spike Lee), winner of four Grammy Awards (2010: Best Jazz Instrumental Solo for the piece Dancin’ 4 Chicken, on Jeff “Tain” Watts’ album Watts) and the Grand Prix du Disque 2009 from the Académie Charles-Cros for his most recent work, Choices. And yet, despite that busy agenda, he’s headed back here for his first Festival gig since 2005. Let us not mince words: this is a truly exceptional event.\n\nhttp://www.montrealjazzfest.com/program/concert.aspx?id=9552\n
