Although he shines in long cascades of notes articulated at dazzling speed, Pat Metheny remains first and foremost a specialist of clear melody that steers clear of the superfluous. After a few years of experimentation, he recently resumed his activities with keyboardist Lyle Mays, bassist Steve Rodby and drummer Paul Wertico. Together they recorded the excellent We Live Here, the same Pat Metheny Group he’ll play with in Montréal on these two eagerly awaited dates.
