Soaring out of Nova Scotia on wings of talent, Holly Cole opened her career in a variety of Toronto groups before forming her own trio with pianist Aaron Davis and bassist David Piltch in 1985. Trained in classical and jazz, she gravitated towards a blend of pop and jazz songs, a style that has won her endless acclaim – and a collection of platinum and gold albums. A wonderful and unique stylist, she has fashioned an utterly personal songbook featuring composers as diverse as Sheryl Crow, Elvis Costello, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Tom Waits and the Beatles. Who can forget her own version of Calling You from the soundtrack to Baghdad Café, the song that made her international reputation? Don’t miss the opening act with Michael Kaeshammer.
