Dave Douglas (trumpet). Marcus Strickland (saxophone), Gene Lake (drums), Adam Benjamin (keyboard), Brad Jones (bass) and Countryman (turntables) make up electric sextet Keystone, who present Spark of Being, a project created around Bill Morrison's film, itself somewhat inspired by Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. A rumination on the dialogue between humanity and technology, Spark of Being brings improvisation, electronic sounds, ambient jazz; an evening of exceptional grooves, and we'd expect no less from one of the most imaginative trumpeters of his generation!
