Her song Tom's Diner was used to test the purity of MP3 audio compression, its inventor wanting to ensure a proper rendering of the warm a cappella tone of American singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega's voice. Powerful and disarming, her introspective neo-folk took the redhead to stardom in the 1980s, notably with Luka, the hit that made her a global name. Eight albums later-the most recent, Beauty & Crime, was released in 2007-this poet and storyteller, performing in trio, brings us tales of ordinary life with extraordinary detail and force, It's a privilege to hear her in a setting this intimate!
