A leading group in Argentina's Tango Nuevo movement, Astillero are not content to breath youthful new life into the classic tango repertoire and update it for a contempo audience... on the contrary, they bring a new vision to the genre, incisive and intense, rough and violent as the world we're living in today, while also carrying forward the DNA of a musical tradition. 100% acoustic, the Astillero sound-delivered by virtuoso players-is energetic, dizzying, sophisticated and insistent; a reflection of Buenos Aires in the 21st century.

Marc-André Sarault
Marc-André Sarault (Festival International de Jazz de Montréal)
A group of carefree and easy-going young fellows, enthusiasts of their national repertoire (the tango) and excellent musicians, above all. They reinterpret and redefine the tango, putting them at the forefront of a whole new cultural movement in Buenos Aires, called New Tango. It will be a cheerful and cheap show, so take advantage!
