Renaud Garcia-Fons Bajo Andaluz - Double Bass meets Flamenco Dancer

with Sabrina Romero
Renaud Garcia-Fons confirmed his virtuosity here last year: drawing his bow across his five-string double bass and making it sing! Classical music and jazz are far from his only influences; he also draws on traditional and folk music... and has a pronounced weakness for flamenco! Starting solo with his bajo andaluz (Spanish double bass), he will then be joined by young Sabrina Romero, singer, dancer and percussionist from Lyons of Andalucian extraction, for a most passionate flamenco duo. Double bass can also be played with a bow and Garcia-Fons, an expert in the style, knows how to reveal his instrument’s deep and uncommonly rich sound. Young dancer Sabrina Romero joins Renaud for a flamenco-style duo.
André Ménard
André Ménard (Festival International de Jazz de Montréal)
Bassist extraordinaire and multi-talented musician, he finally appeared at the Festival last year to deliver a brilliant performance. This year, we’re making up for lost time with three extremely exciting projects. Not to be missed.
