La India The Princess of Salsa

Opening Act: Cuba Soy
Linda Viera Caballero, god-daughter of Celia Cruz, was nicknamed La India for her long black hair while attending school in the Bronx as a child. The Puerto Rican native used the name for her first album, produced by Eddie Palmieri, and has kept it ever since: La India Llego was one of the best salsa albums of 1992! The title of her latest, Soy Diferente (I Am Different) was no accident: reggaeton, salsaton, merengueton, salsa flamencoton… and a megaton of dance-mad pleasure! Opening the concert, Cuban multi-instrumentalist Jesus Alejandro El Niño offers up spicy salas and charanga over a bed of fiery Latin rhythms!
