The Bad Plus

The first Bad Plus album with lyrics, For All I Care adds the voice of singer Wendy Lewis to the very special chemistry shared by Ethan Iverson (piano), Reid Anderson (double bass) and Dave King (drums) in this most recent project undertaken by the beyond-jazz trio. Their avant-garde jazz absorbs rock and pop influences and sidles up to electronica! Above all, this is a true concert event in a very intimate venue! As a matter of fact, upon learning about our new club venue L’Astral, Bad Plus insisted on performing there even if it meant spreading their increasing audience over two nights... Your chance!

The Bad Plus is an incredibly tight improvisational trio, unafraid to depart from traditional jazz repertoire, yet still drawing on jazz techniques to create something wonderfully unique. Each player has a strong separate voice, yet the ensemble blends to deliver performances that are at once highly creative and yet very cohesive. This is post-modern jazz at its best. A must see!
