This Halifax gal is charming, sexy, has talent to burn, and knows just how to surround herself with the best. Jill Barber revives ’40s jazz by writing it back into life herself—exquisitely, one might add. Captivating, unclassifiable, vulnerable, her remarkable voice is blessed with a little touch of timelessness. Her 4th album, Chances, was written in collaboration with Ron Sexsmith, making for a skilled blend of jazz, folk and country recalling Patsy Cline, Édith Piaf and Etta James. Wow!
