Une soirée avec Grover Washington, Jr., ses musiciens et ses invités

With a saxophonist father and uncle, a drummer brother and a mother who sings, willy-nilly, music becomes second nature. Born in Buffalo, New York, Grover Washington, Jr. grew up listening to Coleman Hawkins, Dexter Gordon and Sonny Rollins. A musician for all seasons, he was a dentist's assistant, a church pianist, a security guard and a record distributor before getting his big break as an artist. He was an immediate hit! He eases a suave and seductive sound from his sax that revels in all styles, in soul, funk and jazz. And still today, on record or on tour, playing for the Cosby Show or accompanying Bill Clinton, Grover Washington Jr. remains an authentic, pure musician. We haven't seen him in Montreal for quite some time, and this is his first appearance at the Festival. A great opportunity then to hear family tradition at its best!
