A globe-trotting musician with an equally well-travelled reputation, Bobo Stenson plays matchmaker between jazz and world music. In the 70s, he was a member of Rena Rama and Oriental Wind, among the first European groups to introduce Bulgarian and Indian folk rhythms to jazz. This brilliant pianist-composer has accompanied the likes of Stan Getz, Sonny Rollins and Red Mitchell. Bass player Anders Jormin and drummer Jon Christensen are at his side to present a few excerpts from their album
Reflections.
Originally from Montreal's Saint-Henri district where he learned piano from Oscar Peterson's sister — the Peterson family lived in the same neighbourhood — Joe Sealy is one of the key figures in Canadian jazz. A career begun in the 50s has included concerts in the best venues as well as composing for radio, television and the movies. With his long-time partner, Canadian double bassist and composer Paul Novotny, he delivers subtle and refined music to audiences who couldn't be happier.
