Paul Winter prefers to describe his unique blend of jazz, classical, Brazilian, African and other world sounds as Earth Music, music that celebrates the whole earth, its cultures and creatures ... "but as long as they listen, I don't care what people call it". And listen they have. His quintet was the first jazz group to play at the White House under Kennedy in 1962, the year he contributed to the discovery of Brazilian music with a bossa nova-jazz fusion recording. Two of the moon's craters were named aller Winter's compositions, when his record Road accompanied the crew of Apollo 15. Beatles' producer George Martin described the Consorts Icarus as "the best record I ever made" Catch this concert of jazz with a difference, and join in the celebration with other Consort fans, who, in the words of People Magazine "don't just listen to the music; they live to it"
