David Torn Solo

A veteran of the Everyman Band and of the Jan Garbarek Group, David Tom, according to general opinion, is one of the most exciting guitarists around. A product of the New York musical scene, he played with Lou Reed during five years prior to devoting himself actively to jazz. This former student of flamenco has recorded two albums on the ECM label. "Cloud About Mercury", his latest effort, was released at the end of 1986, and features Bill Bruford and Mark Isham. David Tom is no stranger to Montréal, having performed with David Sylvian and Mark Isham in the past. On the other hand, his solo performance this year will be a Festival premiere for David Torn and electric jazz-lovers.
