Sonny Rollins avec Bob Cranshaw, Jerome Harris, Mark Suskin et Clifton Anderson

Since Charlie Parker, no one plays saxophone like Sonny Rollins. Richness of tone, powerful breathing, imaginative rhythmics, and subtle harmonies, Sonny Rollins brings all these qualities to Montréal in his first visit since the 1984 Festival. In a career which spans almost 40 years, this giant of tenor sax has touched all musical movements, without renouncing his initial identity, formed in the Thelonious Monk School. Considering his insatiable curiosity, this has never kept him from experimenting with various styles. More than the unequalled master of the saxophone, Sonny Rollins belongs to the calibre of musicians who persist in redefining the art of music.
