The Clarinet Summit is truly a "meeting at the top" for four of the best clarinelists in the business. When Texas-born John Carter came up with the idea for this group, he first contacted Jim Hamilton, a well-known mainstream artist and member of the Duke Ellington Orchestra for 26 years. He then invited Alvin Baliste, New Orleans's best modern clarinet player, to join them. The quartet is finally complete by Young blood David Murray, who is better known for his saxophone playing but is also a formidable bass clarinetist. With no other accompaniment. these four musical wizards promise to deliver the kind of delirious performance that only the clarinet, once the main instrument of jazz, canprovide. join them at the summit!
