McCoy Tyner is undoubtedly one of the pianists who has most influenced Jazz. With his percussive and energetic style, his music is emphatic and well structured as well as tender and lyrical. His association with John Coltrane from 1960 to 1965 is one of the most important milestones in McCoy Tyner's long and eventful career. With the special participation of saxophonist Sonny Fortune, McCoy Tyner will surely pay his respects to Coltrane's memory, who died 20 years ago this summer. McCoy Tyner's repertory features his own compositions as well as Jazz standards.
