Trompeter Terence Blanchard and saxophonist Donald Harrison are, without a doubt, two of the most distinguished musicians of the younger generation. Both New Orleans born, where they studied with Ellis Marsalis (father of Wynton and Branford), their Jazz roots are very strong. Blanchard and Harrison were members of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers where their instrumental mastery was rapidly and unanimously recognized by all the critics. Together, they are developing their own sound and display an interpretative maturity which is rare in musicians so young. A performance where the meaning of tradition joins research, mastery, and originality.
