Tiger Okoshi, on trumpet, makes regular appearances in Montréal. Gary Burton was the first to hire this Japanese musician. Together they recorded "Times Square" for the E.C.M. label with Steve Swallow, bass and Roy Haynes, drums. After innumerable sessions and engagements, Tiger Okoshi became a professor at the nowfamous Berklee College of Music, known for the diversity of musical styles it teaches students. A great number of graduates are now into rock-jazz, a field in which Tiger Okoshi excels.
