D.E.W. East

D.E.W. East means Dean (Alex), Elmes (Barry) and Wallace (Steve), three of the Canadian jazz scene's finest performers. Multi-instrumentalist Dean plays tenor sax in the Boss Brass of Rob McConnell— 1997's Oscar Peterson Award winner — where Wallace has also done service (he was Oscar Peterson's bassist for a good spell, too), while drummer Elmes heads up his own quintet (in which Wallace handles bass duties) and co-founded Time Warp. Original compositions and old standards from a newly formed trio with an infinity of experience.
