The singer, pianist and guitarist before you has taken a remarkable journey, in life as in music. Three years ago, at 19, Gargot was riding her bicycle when a terrible car accident left the talented young Philadelphia resident for dead. Multiple head injuries and pelvic fractures meant long, grueling hospitalization and left her with short-term memory lapses, but a doctor suggested music therapy to help the healing process. Writing and recording songs from her bed, she released Some Lessons – The Bedroom Sessions and turned fate to her ends. With the Worrisome Heart album, a blend of cool jazz and pop, Melody Gardot weaves ambience and communicates emotion. She’s come a long way, and is going much, much further!
