Trad blues, Chicago and Delta style — that’s what Bharath & His Rhythm Four bring to Montreal fans. Singer-harmonicist Bharath Rajakumar formerly blew his harp for the Catfish Blues Trio, who slayed ‘em at the Festival in 2001 and 2002. His new band has already won the Toronto Blues Society’s Talent Search contest, and has a new album featuring a very special guest — and fan of the band — American blues guitarist Junior Watson. Why? Because Bharath blows his “Mississippi saxophone” hot and amped, in the blues-harp tradition of legends like Little Walter, Big Walter Horton and Sonny Boy Williamson, that’s why.
