Conjunto Chappottín y sus estrellas

For over 70 years, this legendary Cuban band has kept alive the legacy of son, the progenitor of salsa and close musical relative of cha-chacha, mambo and rumba. Worthy descendants of national legends Felix Chappottín, Miguelito Cuni, Lili Martinez and Chocolate Armenteros, they fire up trumpets, tres, brass, guitars, piano, congas and bongos to animate a supremely rhythmic music that serves as the sonic backdrop of an entire country.

Maurin Auxemery
from Montréal will attend this concert:

Working in the shadow of the more successful Buena Vista Social Club, this 11-piece Cuban group perhaps was not lucky enough to stumble upon their own Ry Cooder. One thing is certain: these Cuban stars will transport you to Havana for two hours and pump the very best of their native music(s) into your ears: montuno, guajira, guaracha, mambo, danzon, charanga, rumba, cha cha cha and on and on…
