Blitz the Ambassador

Dear Africa
Ghanaian-American Blitz the Ambassador set himself a mission: to test the limits of hip hop, or even to explode them. Establishing himself as one of the most original emerging MCs of recent years, he fearlessly injects funk, swing, soul, Afrobeat and rich orchestrations into a vibrant, rhythmic poetry, creating a whole that somewhat recalls the firebrand calls-toarms of Public Enemy or the rap-jazz of The Roots.

Caroline Johnson
Caroline Johnson (Festival International de Jazz de Montréal)
One of the most innovative MCs on the New York scene. A mix of hip-hop and funk with oodles of horns. Blitz really brings people together!
Marc-André Sarault
Marc-André Sarault (Festival International de Jazz de Montréal)
Wow! I saw his show in France last December and have been a fan ever since. Rarely have I seen a leader with as much self-confidence as Blitz. He raps, he slams, he plays beat-box, he leads the band (watch how he directs his musicians, the horn section in particular) and constantly interacts with the crowd. Very Brooklyn, yet without forgetting his Ghanaian roots. I guarantee you’ll find this 60-minute show way too short!
