Alejandra Ribera

Argentinean on her father’s side, Scottish on her mother’s, this atypical Toronto singer is making her mark on the Canadian music scene with a very eclectic style that can be summed up by the word tattooed inside her wrist: escuchame, listen to me. Her concerts are rollercoaster rides, for the way they zoom without warning from style to style through the songs of her album Navigator/Navigateher—from Latin folk to French chanson to alt-pop—and for their rare intensity. She won’t have to ask you twice!

Fred Lamoureux

Unique, that she is! Argentinian father, Scottish mother. Her music a clever blend of Lhasa, Tom Waits and Édith Piaf. Lyrics that are at times dark, but full of wisdom. Simply sublime and intense folk!
