Tigran Hamasyan Quintet

Arrata Rebirth
He’s barely into his twenties, but this exceptional jazz pianist is racking up the prizes. His compositions reveal an original and utterly free musical mind, with Hamasyan fearlessly integrating elements of Armenian folklore and even hard rock. The virtuoso returns by popular demand after his two sold-out concerts solo at last summer’s Festival and a spectacular success in L’Astral this past winter. This time out, he appears in a quintet, with the young talented musicians of Arrata Rebirth, to illustrate why his music is the most exciting jazz on the scene right now.

Marc-André Sarault
Marc-André Sarault (Festival International de Jazz de Montréal)
Here’s a pianist to keep an eye on. Tigran has an incredible technique and an approach that’s all his own. So utterly engrossed in the music, he’s fascinating to watch on stage. A singular jazzman, and a must-see if you missed him last year at the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur. Audiences are captivated and come back begging for more. This show will be no exception.
