This Parisian singer of Brazilian descent started out writing her songs —
her poems set to music—in concealment; but she couldn’t hide this light under
a bushel for very long! Beautiful, luminous, joyous and blessed with a voice
of surpassing warmth, Aline de Lima brings a welcome ray of South American
sunshine to our February! Her album Arrebol, on Naïve, takes deep inspiration
from her roots, peppering her saudades with charming, danceable little frevos.
Whether singing her own songs, those of friends or interpreting Barbara’s Septembre,
she is at once refreshing and one of those singers who, quite simply, has the
healing touch.
