In 2009, the Festival celebrates its 30 years. The party begins with a performance
by Stevie Wonder, who has the honour of inaugurating the new
Place des Festivals.
It’s also an opportunity to discover the new Maison Rio Tinto Alcan
and its intimate concert hall, L'Astral, which is baptized by
Oliver Jones and plays host to many artists.
Montrealer Patrick Watson entices festival goers with his colourful
outdoor concert, and the Rocksteady event is a great success.
Ben Harper closes the Festival on an electric note, lighting up the
Place des Festivals with blazing guitars.
