Rocksteady Magic from Screen to Stage
What an amazing day we had. After a leisurely stroll around the MAC, we took in the amazingly wonderful documentary Rocksteady. It was the perfect antidote to a rainy afternoon. As we left the theatre filled with music and joy, we came into the Place des Art complex and were immediately drawn to the reggae beat emanating from Place des Festivals. There before our eyes, the wonderful artists we had just seen on screen, Hopeton Lewis, Ken Boothe, Leroy Sibbles, Stranger Cole, the Tamlins, Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt, and Bongo Herman were all there in person, running through a sound check number before their big evening performance. There were only 100 or so of us grooving to their music - it was short but it was oh, so sweet and completely magical after just having seen them on the big screen. What a wonderful day. THANKS so much
