Marco ’s Festival story

In 1984 The Festival turned 5 years old. The opening concert was Buddy Rich & Orchestra and for the closing was an Hommage au jazz francais. In That year the Festival had 3 stages 1)Scene Emery 2)Scene Ontario and 3)Scene Maisonnneuve.

In 1986, The festival was using sector Place des arts and St-Denis street. The opening show was Antonio Carlos Jobim and the closing was Dizzy Gillespie.The festival was quite huge using bolth sites and was the last year with their 2 major sponsors.

In 1989, It was the 10th anniversary of the festival and celebrated something quite huge. especially with the BIG concert on Mcgill college with Pat Metheny.The opening concert was Ray Charles and the closing was Oscar Peterson 10 Years was HUGE!!
