Blues Camp
19-01-2018
A 100%-free music day camp!
Designed for aspiring young musicians ages 13 to 17, the Blues Camp offers teens an exceptional opportunity to take part in a week of high-level musical training devoted entirely to the blues and absolutely free! The highlight is the final concert on the main stage of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, where our teens will interpret an existing piece of music and perform an original composition (music and lyrics) produced by the band they formed just a few days before.
How to participate
Registration is open until Wednesday, March 21, 11:59 p.m.: campdeblues.com/registration
Based on the auditions, approximately 50 musicians are selected—including keyboard players, trumpeters, trombonists, drummers, guitarists, bass players, singers and harmonica players—to experience this intense week of musical dreams. Each audition lasts about 10 minutes.
How to prepare
There are no set pieces of music you have to play and you don’t require an in-depth knowledge of the blues genre to be accepted. Check out the “How to prepare” tab of the website for explanatory videos and tips:
