Vancouver-born, Montreal-based saxophonist Erik Hove is a devotee of modern jazz and improvisational music. He moved to la belle ville to attend McGill University, taking lessons with veteran saxophonist Rémi Bolduc. A Canada Council grant became Hove's golden ticket to New York, where he studied with Blue Note recording artist Greg Osby. While there, he formed the experimental turntable jazz group Soundclash, which played extensively in New York and Montreal, and collaborated with the indie-pop band Stars. In 2006, Hove won the François Marcaurelle Award at L'OFF Festival de Jazz de Montréal.
