Michel Donato is one of the most popular bass players in Canada. He has collaborated with some of the biggest legends of jazz including Bill Evans, Charlie Haden, Joe Pass, Oliver Jones and Oscar Peterson-an indication of the level of respect and appreciation of his musicianship. Multi-talented, Donato is capable of adapting to all sorts of styles and players, whether it's in the studio or in concert. A Festival regular, he was the recipient of the Oscar Peterson Award in 1995 and in 2008 celebrated 50 years of playing jazz.
