A fixture on Maritime stages and a growing presence in music venues across Canada, Matt Andersen first attracted listeners with his live recordings Solo at Sessions and Live at Liberty House. In 2008, the emerging bluesman released his first studio album, Somewhere In-Between, adding songwriter to his already solid vocalist credentials. The album features bassist Dave Markee and drummer Henry Spinetti, the pair that anchored Eric Clapton's band during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Andersen won Blues Recording of the Year and Male Solo Recording of the Year at the 2009 East Coast Music Awards. Coal Mining Blues came out in 2011.
