Dom La Nena

1989 -

Origin: Brazil

Main instrument: Vocal

Genre: World

Dominique Pinto was born in 1989 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where she discovered a passion for music: piano first, then cello, which quickly became her instrument of choice. Seeking to refine her art, she headed to Paris, then to Buenos Aires, where she was studied under the great cellist Christine Walevska. She went on to other brilliant musical encounters, playing with Camille and Piers Faccini, who helped her with her 2013 debut album, the lovely and melancholy Ela. She joined singer Rosemary Standley (Moriarty) in the duo Birds on a Wire, revisiting a vast repertoire of classics from all genres, from Monteverdi to Leonard Cohen, and in 2015, released her 2nd album, Soyo.
