Montreal's Stephen Barry has been a musical mover and shaker since the mid-1970s. This legend of the Canadian blues scene has toured across Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes. He also played in Europe and South America. Along the way, Barry has most notably rubbed shoulders with John Lee Hooker, Big Moose Walker, Bo Diddley and Big Mama Thornton. In 1996, the Stephen Barry Blues Band was appointed as the Canadian blues group of the year at the Jazz Report Awards. The musician is a regular at the Festival since his first visits in the late 1980s.
