Virtuoso Theodosii Spassov is acknowledged as a master of the kaval, an eight-hole wooden flute known as one of the most ancient instruments of Europe. After studying at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, the musician embarked on a successful international career, with collaborations ranging from vocal ensemble Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares to Italian composer Ennio Morricone or the Riverdance company, to name but a few. A prolific recording and performing artist, Spassov also dabbled in music for film. Fluent in jazz and pop music, well-versed in both traditional and classical music, he has developed a singular style lauded by fans and critics alike.
