Founded in 2003, Filewile is DJ Dustbowl (Andrea Ryser) and singer Dejot (Daniel Jakob). Initially, they labelled themselves "mobile laptop street musicians" and put a composition on-line each month for fans to download for free. They write, perform, produce, distribute, and market their music via their label, Mouthwatering Records. They've recorded with singers such as Nicolette (Massive Attack), Mr. Melody and Baby Chann, but since their debut album, Nassau Massage (2007) Joy Frempong has been their signature vocalist. They've produced music for ads (Swatch), theatre and film. Increasingly, they blend analog elements with their electronic sound, as on the dub-driven dance album, Blueskywell (2010). Their 2011 release is the single You Say I.
