The London-based trio Phronesis is composed of the Danish double bass player Jasper Høiby, the British pianist Ivo Neame, and the Swedish drummer Anton Eger. Høiby created the ensemble in 2005, after graduating from London's Royal Academy of Music. Their debut album, Organic Warfare, was released in 2007, followed by Green Delay (2009), which was named one of the year's top 10 albums by Jazzwise magazine and, for two months following its release, was among the top 100 selling albums on US iTunes. In 2010 Phronesis performed at the Banlieues Bleues Festival in Paris as well as at the Copenhagen and North Sea Jazz Festivals. The group's third album, Alive (2010), was selected Jazz Album of the Year by both Jazzwise and MOJO magazines. Walking Dark followed in 2012, as well as Life to Everything in 2014.
