Joé Boisvert began playing guitar at 16, after seeing Steve Hill perform, while his brother Kim studied classical guitar before picking up the electric guitar at age 14. The band got its impromptu start in 2005, in a Gaspé campground, when the brothers filled in at the last minute for another group. Soon after, they formed Greenwood, which went through a few personnel changes before Luc Jr. Belisle, drums, and Sébastien Hénault-Blanchard, bass, came on board. Robert Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Hill and Philip Sayce are among their influences. At the Gala Lys Blues, they were nominated in the Best New Band and Best Cabaret Show categories in 2008, and named Revelation of the Year in 2011. They released their debut album, Green Money, featuring singer Kim Richardson, in 2010.
