The Lost Fingers
Origin: Quebec, Canada
Genres: Manouche jazz (Gypsy jazz), Pop
The Lost Fingers deliver an unusual blend of Django Reinhardt-style gypsy jazz with 1980s pop. The Québec-based trio is made up of classical guitarists Christian Roberge and Byron Mikaloff, and double bass player Alex Morrissette. Its first CD, Lost in the 80s, was released in the spring of 2008 and includes covers of songs by AC/DC, Soft Cell and Stevie Wonder. In the same year, the trio opened for the Pascale Picard Band and performed at the Festival d'été de Québec. The group made their first appearance at the 2008 Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, and they've been invited back in 2009. Rendez-vous rose came out the same year.
