Multi-instrumentalist Pierre Labbé plays primarily flute and saxophone. An inquisitive and versatile musician, he is engaged in a variety of projects in the spheres of contemporary jazz and new music. He composes for the theatre and, as artistic director of the Sacré Tympan company, he is behind such multidisciplinary productions as Pierre et le pou and Contes du vent. With the Pierre Labbé Quartet, he put out the album Manivelle in 2009. The disc Tremblement de fer, the studio version of an ambitious concert premiered at the OFF Festival de jazz de Montréal, was released in 2010.
