The Soul Rebels

Origin: United States

Genres: Jazz, R&B/Soul/Funk

Founded in 1991, Louisiana's Soul Rebels Brass Band is a eight-piece orchestra whose multi-instrumentalist members all hold music degrees. Blending New Orleans jazz and soul with the contemporary sounds of hip hop and R&B, the group started performing in the streets of New Orleans during Mardi Gras and funeral ceremonies, and later on kick-started their professional career by performing as opening act for the Neville Brothers. The Soul Rebels Brass Band has since performed with a multitude of artists, including Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, Bootsy Collins, and James Brown. Released under new moniker The Soul Rebels, Unlock Your Mind came out in early 2012.
