Treasa Levasseur

Origin: Ontario, Canada

Main instrument: Vocal

Genres: Blues, R&B/Soul/Funk

Winnipeg-born multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Treasa Levasseur was raised in North Bay, Ontario, where she discovered a love for soul, Motown, blues and R&B. Now Toronto-based, the singer-songwriter released a first album in 2006, the 1960s soul/pop inspired Not a Straight Line. After an inspiring trip to the Southern states of the USA, Levasseur followed with the blues-inspired soul album Low Fidelity in 2008, with the help of guitarist/producer David Baxter. At ease on most instruments, including the accordion, the mandolin and the piano, the young soul singer won CBC Radio's "Ultimate Sideman Showdown" in 2008.
