Slim Wood

Origin: Quebec, Canada

Main instrument: Piano

Genre: Blues

Pianist Sébastien Dubois, a.k.a. Slim Wood, took his first classical piano lessons at 5, a passion passed on from his musician father. Growing up, Dubois soon discovered vintage rock and roll, especially blues, boogie woogie and R&B, along the way acquiring the stage name of Slim Wood. In 2002, the piano virtuoso joined the Kevin Mark Band, honing his piano skills around Montréal's blues circuit and playing various jazz or blues festivals, including le Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. With the Slim Wood Blues Band, featuring musicians François Thiffault on saxophone, Costa Zafiropoulos on double bass and Eloi Bertholet on drums, Slim Wood has taken his juke joint blues to France, New Jersey and across Canada.
