The Moody Blues
Origin: United Kingdom
Genres: Pop, Rock
Constantly renewing themselves since their early days as an R&B act during the British Invasion of the 1960s, The Moody Blues have been a seminal figure in the history of music and pop culture in the last four decades, with their orchestrated music and inspiring lyrics. With classic hits like Nights in White Satin, Tuesday Afternoon and I'm Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band), The Moody Blues have more than once paved the way for rock, psychedelic and pop music by experimenting with sounds, genres and instruments. One of the first groups to use a Mellotron or to mix classical music with rock, the group has released over 20 albums since 1964. In 2009, the band's three remaining members took their greatest hits on the road, in one of their most successful tours yet.
